BOOK REVIEW | Time’s Up, Afton – Brent Jones

Hi everyone!

I’m so excited to be reviewing the last installment of Brent Jones’ serial thriller, Time’s Up, Afton. If you didn’t know, I’m slightly obsessed with this series and I’m so excited to finally be reviewing the last book.

Some secrets stay buried for a lifetime, but nothing lasts forever.

Connected to a number of high-profile deaths, Afton finds herself not only under scrutiny from the chief of police, but damned in the court of public opinion, as well.

In the aftermath of the fiery assault on Wakefield, a low-level gang has infiltrated the town, flooding its streets with bad drugs, killing several teenagers. As Afton prepares for the final showdown with her tormentor, she marks each gang member as a target for elimination, in a methodical plan to gain the upper hand. What follows is a race against the clock that will keep readers guessing until the very last page, as Afton risks life and limb to fulfill her murderous mission of doing good in the world.

Time’s Up, Afton is the fourth and final part in a new serial thriller by author Brent Jones. Packed with grit and action, The Afton Morrison Series delves into a world of moral ambiguity, delivering audiences an unlikely heroine in the form of a disturbed vigilante murderess.

Review:

I’m not kidding when I say every time I think this series has hit it’s ultimate high, Brent Jones wows me again with the next installment. I’m seriously blown away. I’ve never read anything like this series, it’s so unique and complex, I’m so happy I had the chance to read it.

Afton just keeps getting better as a main character. I absolutely love how she has evolved over the series and in this installment, really proves what she’s capable of. Brent Jones has created one compelling, leading lady, and I’msa bit sad the series is wrapped.

As usual, there are twists and turns, secrets and violence. Nothing short of what I expected the finale to be. I wasn’t expecting the twist, and I’m just blown away by this book. The story came together perfectly. I highly, highly recommend this series!

  1. It took me a while to find a minute to leave you a comment today, Jessica. Sorry about that!

Thanks for another stellar review. It makes me happy to hear that my series is like nothing you’ve read before. When Go Home, Afton first came out, reviewers were quick to draw comparisons between Afton Morrison and Dexter Morgan. While I appreciated that sentiment on some level—people did, for the most part, like Dexter—I really wanted readers to see that Afton’s character (and her story) was a beast of its own.

Thanks again, Jessica, for reading and reviewing.
