3 Quotes, 3 Days (Day 3)

Hi everyone!

Last day for the quote tag. I have a doctor’s appointment today. Fingers crossed this one has an idea.

For my last quote, I chose one from my favorite movie, The Wizard of Oz.

Have a great day.

3 Quotes, 3 Days (Day 2)

Hi everyone!

Two posts in one day, but this one is quick.

Another quote that I feel like I need to read over and over while I’m struggling with my pain. Having a good attitude is hard to do, but giving up is not an option.

Have a great day!

3 Quotes, 3 Days (Day 1)

Hi everyone!

Really late post for me, but I haven’t posted in a while and wanted to update you. I have unfortunate news – my abdominal pain is back with a vengence, and I still don’t have a clue what is causing it. Because of this, I’ve been a little absent the last few days. I saw this tag floating around WordPress and I thought it might be something easy to set up over the next few days. I have a release blitz post scheduled tomorrow morning, so I will put up the day 2 quote as a second post for tomorrow, later in the day.

I found this quote and thought it was good for the situation I’m experiencing. I’m going through a tough situation but I won’t let it ruin me.

Oh, and I tag you if you’d like to participate. 😊

I hope you’re all having a good week. I’ll catch up on reading your posts when I can.

The Superlatives Book Tag

Hi everyone!

Happy Thursday. Today is my Friday because hubby and I took the day off tomorrow. We are going to see Chris Tomlin (Christian singer for those of you who aren’t familiar with him, he is fantastic). I’m super excited, and will probably have pictures to share tomorrow.

Today, I’m doing another book tag because I feel like it. Enjoy 🙂

Most Likely To Be In The Movies: The book that would make the best movie.

I think Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Lani Taylor would be a really cool movie (if done right, of course.)

Biggest drama Queen/King: The most (overly) dramatic book or character.

I’m really trying to be original here, but I’m just going to go with Bella from Twilight to continue to prove my distaste for the book.

Best Dressed: The book with the best cover.

I’m just going to gush over The Savior’s Champion by Jenna Moreci some more. It’s beautiful, and works SO well with the story.

Most Creative: The book with the most unique plot, characters & structure.

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. The structure of the book alone makes it super unique, and then the story and characters are like icing on the cake.

Most Popular: The book with the most ratings on GoodReads

I’m going to go ahead and guess that Harry Potter is probably high on the list, if not the highest.

Most Improved: The book that started off slow, but really picked up.

The 5th Wave. I know this book isn’t for everyone, but I really liked it. The reason I picked it as a book that starts off slow is because it starts off kind of difficult to understand with the multiple points of view.

Cutest Couple: Cutest couple in a book.

Avah & Jasik from the Blood War trilogy by Danielle Rose. They are swoon worthy.

Biggest Heartbreaker: The book that broke your heart.

Back in high school, I read this book called The Butterfly Revolution. It had me so upset and infuriated that I remember throwing the book across the room, haha. It is a really great book, but it was upsetting for me then. I’d like to re-read it now and see if it bothers me as much.

I tag you if you want to participate, just let me know if you do. Enjoy your day! 🙂

Anything But Books Tag

Hi everyone!

Happy Thursday. My abdominal pain has been flaring up, unfortunately. That hasn’t been fun, but hopefully this medicine will help.

Quick post today. Enjoy 😊

Name a cartoon that you love.

Rugrats! I’ll always love Rugrats.

What is your favorite song right now?

Hm. It changes a lot, but I’m going to go with The River by Jordan Feliz.

What could you do for hours that isn’t read?

Binge watch things on Netflix or Hulu, haha.

What is your favorite unnecessarily specific thing to learn about?

Forgive me, but I’m not sure how to answer this question.

What is something unusual that you know how to do?

I don’t really think I know how to do anything unusual. I’m boring.

Name something you made in the last year.

What is your most recent project?

Alter Reach is the only thing I’ve been focusing on for quite a while.

Tell us something that you think about often?

Being a successful author! 😊

Name something that is your favorite.

Hm. I have a lot of favorites, so I’ll tell you my favorite color is orange.

Type the first thing that pops into your head.

As usual, I tag anyone who would like to do this. Just let me know that you did so I can read your answers.

Have a great day. 😊

Days of the Week Book Tag

Hi everyone!

Ugh. It’s Monday, but we can only hope the week will fly by.

I found this tag at Sam’s Little Corner and thought it would be a fun way to kick off the week.

Monday: Book you’re too lazy to read.

The Game of Thrones books. I might ruffle some feathers here but I’m not a fan of the show (😮) and because of that, I’m not really intetested in reading the books. But, they are also really long, and I’m too lazy to try to see if I’ll enjoy them.

Tuesday: A book that was hard to finish.

I’m not sure why, but I struggled to finish The Call by Peadar O’Guilin. It’s not a bad book, nor is it boring…I just kept putting it down. I’ll have to work out my issues with it in a review.

Wednesday: Book you haven’t finished.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. Not because I don’t like it, but because Obsidio by Aime Kaufman and Jay Kristoff was released. Haha.

Thursday: Book you don’t recommend.

The Maze Runner by James Dashner. I liked it when I read it, but now I’m not that into it and have no interest in finishing the rest of the books.

Friday: A book you can’t wait to be released.

It’s cheating to say Obsidio by Aime Kaufman and Jay Kristoff, but I’m going to anyway. I’m not normally one to keep up on release dates, except in this case.

Saturday: A book you wanted to re-read right away.

The Savior’sChampion by Jenna Moreci. I almost started reading it again, right away, but I had to contain myself.

Sunday: A book you didn’t want to end.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor. Thank goodness there were two more books!

What are you currently reading?

If you do the tag, let me know so I can read your answers!

The Intimidating TBR Tag

Hi everyone!

Happy weekend. It’s been a crazy week, but hubby and I took Monday off, so I’m excited to have a three day weekend.

I haven’t done a tag in a while, and thought this would be fun. I found this one here. As usual, if you’d like to do the tag, go for it! Let me know so I can read your answers. 😊

1. A book on your TBR pile that you haven’t finished.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas. I’m about half way through, but I recently agreed to read and review a couple of books, so I put this one on the back burner so I could focus. I have one more to read and review, and then I’ll be back to this one.

2. A book you just haven’t had the time to read for.

Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor. I’m so mad I haven’t finished this one. I loved the first two, and I can’t wait to find out the end, but I just haven’t had time.

3. A book you haven’t read because it’s a sequel.

I will choose Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo for this one. I’m definitely getting there. I need to write my Six of Crows review.

4. A book you haven’t read because it’s brand new.

I’m going to say Origin by Dan Brown. It’s the newest book on my shelf, so I’m going with it.

5. A book by and author you read previously but didn’t really like.

Insurgent by Veronica Roth. I’m not really a fan of Divergent, so I’m not sure how much time I really want to dedicate to the other books.

6. A book on your TBR pile that you’re just not in the mood to read.

I guess for this I will go with Gone by Michael Grant. I bought it at a used bookstore, and now I’m just not that excited to read it. I’ll probably read it someday.

7. A book on your TBR pile that you haven’t read because it’s enormous.

I’m really disappointed to say Gemina by Aime Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. However, I’ve been listening to the audio book to and from work, and on lunch break, so I’m making time. It’s so good, but it’s also big. Haha.

8. A book on your TBR you bought because of the cover.

Cinder by Marissa Meyer. I really didn’t need to read the blurb, I just wanted the pretty cover. Haha.

9. The book on your TBR you find the most intimidating.

Creation Basics & Beyond by Various authors at ICR. This one is a science book, and while I’m not really great at science, I really want to dig into it. It’s just intimidating. I’ve read a bit of it, but it takes time for my brain to process in the info.

That’s all I have for you today. What are you currently reading? Let me know in the comments!

I hope you enjoy your weekend!

The Netflix Book Tag

Hi everyone! Happy Friday. I haven’t done a book tag in a while, and found this one on YouTube. I love Netflix and books, so I thought this would be a good one to do. Enjoy 😊

1. Recently Watched
The last book you finished reading

I am in such a reading slump, but I finally finished Gemina. I owe you guys a lot of reviews.

2. Top Picks
A book/books that have been recommended to you based on books you have previously read

Most of the books on my shelf were bought because of booktube recommendations, but I think Sarah J Maas’ books are the more recent recommendations I’ve listened to.

3. Recently Added
The last book you bought
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas
4. Popular on Netflix
Books that everyone knows about (2 you’ve read and 2 you have no interest in reading)
Two I’ve read: The Hunger Games and Harry Potter

Two I have no interest in: 50 Shades of Grey and the Game of Thrones series.

5. Comedies
A funny book

I’m not really into funny books, so I can’t think of one at the moment, haha.

6. Dramas
A character who is a drama queen/king
Bella Swan in Twilight. She is among the many reason I passionately hate these books.
7. Animated
A book with cartoons on the cover

I used to have a 30 Days of Night comic – does that count?

8. Watch It Again
A book/book series that you want to re-read
I really want to re-read The Hunger Games series.
9. Documentaries
A non-fiction book you’d recommend to everyone
I don’t read a ton of non-fiction, so I will go with My Story by Elizabeth Smart. While it isn’t the best written story, it is pretty gut wrenching.
10. Action and Adventure
An action packed book

Eve: The Awkajening by Jenna Moreci

11. New Releases
A book that just came out or will be coming out soon that you can’t wait to read

April is soon…right? I am so ready to read The Savior’s Champion by Jenna Moreci. It releases on 4/24!

As always, if you’d like to do the tag, go for it! Just let me know so I can read your answers.

What are your plans this weekend? I’m seeing comedian Paul Rodriguez, on Saturday with my parents.

The Bookshelf Scavenger Hunt

Hi everyone!

Happy Sunday. I hope your weekend is going well. I found this tag here. Once again, I apologize that the picture quality isn’t the best.

Enjoy. 🙂

• Find an author’s name or title with the letter Z in it

• Find a classic

I sadly don’t have any classics on my shelf. 😦

• Find a book with a key on it

I also failed to find a book with a key on it. 😦

• Find something on your bookshelf that’s not a book

These were on my cake for my wedding shower. 🙂

• Find the oldest book on your shelf

• Find a book with a girl on the cover

• Find a book that has an animal in it

• Find a book with a male protagonist

• Find a book with only words on it

• Find a book with illustrations in it

It has maps in it…it’s as close as I could get.

• Find a book with gold lettering

My camera sucks, but this is definitely gold.

• Find a diary (true or fictional)

Not really a diary, but it’s her story.

• Find a book written by someone with a common name (like Smith)

• Find a book that has a closeup of something on it

• Find a book on your shelf that takes place in the earliest time period

I mean, it’s about time travel, so, it kind of works.

• Find a hardcover book without a jacket

Find a teal/turquoise colored book

• Find a book with stars on it

Okay, I cheated a little.

• Find a non-YA book

That’s all I have for you today. If you participate in the tag, be sure to let me know. I’d love to see your answers.

The Blogger Tag

Hi everyone!

Happy Friday!

I found this tag here. Please note, a couple questions felt like they were for vlogging, so I took them out and added one new question.

As always, if you’d like to participate, I tag you! 😊

1. Where do you blog?

Sometimes, I blog from my “office,” (A desk in the living room) and sometimes I blog from bed (using my phone).

2. Where do you find inspiration for blog posts?

I kind of just wing it here. Sometimes I watch or read something I want to review or I find a tag that seems fun. Sometimes, I am going through something in life that seems worth talking about. My blog topics come from all sorts of places.

3. How long does it take you to write a blog post?

Somewhere between 15 minutes to an hour. Depends on what I am doing. A tag will take less time and planning than a review or advice piece. Also, most of my poetry was written way back, so I just copy and paste for that.

4. Do you plan blog posts?

Sometimes. If I’m having a good week, I will have each post wribloggingtten and scheduled for a specific day. Other weeks, I’m scrambling to get one written a couple hours before posting. I’m a mess.

5. Do you use a notebook to track your ideas?

Not really for the blog. I use a notebook to record dreams I think would make interesting stories or add to the story I’m currently writing.

6. What is your favorite type of post to write?

I really enjoy any time I get to speak about y work in progress, Alter Reach.

7. Who knows about your blog?

Family and friends. I make it pretty public.

8. Are you an organized or messy blogger?

Mostly messy.

9. Biggest blogging pet peeve?

Random comments that are clearly spam.

10. Favorite part of blogging?

Meeting other awesome bloggers and sharing stories and opinions with them.

I hope you have a great Friday! It’s snowy and cold (-25 with the wind chill) here, so I will just be trying to keep warm.
