Jessica’s Weekly Poetry Post

Hey there! Sorry this is coming late. This weekend was crazy busy and flew by. I hope your week is going well. I’ll be back with another post soon!

Enjoy 🙂

Poetic Expression

Feelings bleeding through,
the black ink on this paper.
A written tale of a little,
girl ripped apart by love.

So much power held in my mind,
spilling it out through my pen.
Turning my darkest fears into,
a symphony of poetic expression.

Piecing every thought together,
my personal diary in metaphors.
Pulling myself apart to find,
the words to turn my life around.

Jessica’s Weekly Poetry Post

Hi everyone! I’m not ready for the weekend to be over. 😦

Here’s another poem for you. Enjoy 😊

No Turning Back

Like a fallen star,
on a cold winter’s day,
wandering, waiting,
I have lost my way.

Like a broken tree,
covered in thick ice,
I have learned my lesson,
and paid the price.

Like a winter wonderland,
suddnely turned black,
I have reached my fate,
there’s no turning back.

Jessica’s Weekly Poetry Post x2

Good morning and Happy Memorial Day! I hope you’re all having a great weekend. I missed last week’s Poetry Post, so I thought I would give you two poems today to make up for it.

Enjoy! 🙂

Grand Finale

My world
began collapsing
a long time ago,
and I’m sorry you
got crushed when
the final pieces fell.

Replace A Heart

So broken, beyond repair,
soul forsaken without a care.
Humanity ripped apart,
a cold stone to replace a heart.

Snow white in a bed of thorns,
nightmare, comfort forlorn.
Self-esteem ripped apart,
bloodied hole to replace a heart.

Let me know what you did this weekend in the comments below. I have lots of blogs planned for the coming week so stay tuned!

Jessica’s Weekly Poetry Post

Hey there! Sorry for not posting my usual yesterday, but I decided I needed a day to spend with my family. I haven’t written much about it, but I lost my mom in 2008 to cancer and Mother’s Day has not been the easiest day since then. I had a great weekend all together regardless. I have a fantastic step mother and a fantastic mother in law, so I enjoyed it all the same. I hope you all had a great weekend.

Enjoy the poem 😊

                     Light of Hope

A light of hope flickers,
in silence of the night,
vivifying this somber room,
crushing eager darkness,
and masking all misery,
beyond these four walls.

Jessica’s Weekly Poetry Post #10

Happy Sunday! I’m hoping to get two or three blogs out this week. I’ve been super busy setting up our fish tank 😁

This poem is very personal and I thought it was fitting since Mother’s Day is next weekend. I’ll probably go into more detail about the situation eventually, but for now, enjoy. 😊

18 Years

I’m four years old,
playing with my barbies,
you’re right there,
pretending along with me.

Giggling and laughing,
about the party Barbie
and Ken are having in
their brand new house.

I’m fourteen now,
and in my freshmen year.
I don’t know how,
those boys could be so mean.

Picked on, teased,
I come home in tears.
You’re right there waiting,
to make me feel better.

I’m seventeen now,
ready to take on the road.
“You’ll do great,”
you always believed in me.

A year later,
I passed my road test.
“Mom, I’m a licensed driver!”
You were always so proud.

I’m eighteen now,
and you’re sick…
“It’s incurable cancer…”
the day my world fell apart.

August 16th 2008,
the day you slipped away.,
and heaven got an angel.

Rest in peace mom. I love you.

Jessica’s Weekly Poetry Post #9

Hi everyone! So sorry it’s been a while since my last post. I had three blogs planned for these last couple days, but it was my husband’s birthday Thursday and we have been super busy since! I’m back with another piece of poetry. This was written a little more recently (and by recently, I mean 3 years ago).

Enjoy your Sunday! 😊
Incessant

Vague shadows,
haunt the walls,
dancing, seducing,
disguising nightmares.

Drowning in daylight,
an empty shell,
full of false smiles,
over-acted & poorly directed.

Unrecognizable life,
this is where it ends.
Set myself aflame…

…resurrected from the ashes.

It never ends.

Jessica’s Weekly Poetry Post #8

Hi Everyone! Happy Sunday. I hope you all had a fantastic weekend.

I wrote this poem 10 years ago, and I’m pretty sure I was mad at someone. Allpoetry also allows its members to run contests and enter contests – this was a poem written off the word bank provided by the contest maker.

The word bank used in case you’re interested:

Intoxicated
Masquerade
Distorted
Collide
Mirage
Memories
Tainted
Fabricated
Desolate
Misery
Chaotic
Corrupt
Revenge
Demise
Renegade
Fatality

Enjoy 🙂

The Masquerade

The desolation and misery you’re feeling now,
has all been caused by your obsession with yourself.
All your stories of the different things you’ve done,
are all fabrications, you can never tell the truth.

Your mind is tainted now; you think the lies are true.
It’s all just a mirage – reality becomes distorted now.
Maybe the memories are too much for you to handle.
Maybe that’s why you’re constantly intoxicated by deceit.

When I am around you, I feel like I’m in a masquerade,
where you’re forced to where a mask to hid the shame.
You pretend to be someone I know you never wanted to be,
and I wonder if you’ll ever remove your disguise.

Your old friends are beginning to call you a renegade,
because all you ever want is the attention on you.
Everyone knows you’re a fraud; your life is fake.
Soon you’ll become a fatality that no one will remember.

Your life is so chaotic, or so you say to all around you.
Everyone knows it’s all for the attention you think you lack.
You’re so corrupt now; all you do is perjure yourself.
Your falseness will soon become your demise.

When the truth and lies collide,
What will the outcome be?
Revenge or forgiveness?

Jessica’s Weekly Poetry Post #7

Hi Everyone! This blog is being posted a day early because I am taking tomorrow off to enjoy family and Easter. 🙂

Forgotten

Take my mind, hold it close.
Feel the passion, sweltering.
I want this power inside me.

Emotions whirling, whispering,
“you’re truly beautiful.”
And I’m living to discover your soul.

I’d forgotten how to breathe,
but now I’m paralyzed by you.
And stronger, our flame burns.

Let me know what your Easter plans are in the comments!

Jessica’s Weekly Poetry Post #6

Hello everyone! It’s Sunday and it’s a beautiful day here in Rochester, NY. I had a nice weekend, I hope you all did as well. I have another poem to share with you today. I hope you enjoy it.

Spellbound

Crimson drapes, glowing candles,
silent whispers of sweet desires.
The night draws near, takes me in,
singing sweetly, a lullaby of insanity.

Bright flames, angelic misery,
leads me to the end of another day.
Silent scene, darkness surrounds me,
soaring through an absurd fantasy.

I finally loose all of my control,
it’s dangerous, but I can’t help it.
I am spellbound,
and I cannot break the spell on me.

That is all I have for you today.

Angel

Graceful charm,
intertwined with,
the delicate essence,
of angels in heaven.

Harbor my heart,
in your eyes,
and steal my soul,
with one smile.

The air I breathe,
my pulse, my life.
You and only you.
My angel above.

That is all I have for you today.
