Incessant – A Poem

Hi everyone, happy Friday! Still not feeling better. I have more medicine to pick up today. Ugh, not fun.

I have another poem for you today. I have a couple book reviews coming and another season of Lost, so stay tuned for that

Enjoy 😊

Incessant

Vague shadows,
haunt the walls,
dancing, seducing,
disguising nightmares.

Drowning in daylight,
an empty shell,
full of false smiles,
over-acted & poorly directed.

Unrecognizable life,
this is where it ends.
Set myself aflame…

…resurrected from the ashes.

It never ends.

What are your weekend plans? Mine are to feel better and keep working on Alter Reach and blog things. I hope you enjoy the weekend!

White Night Fantasy – A Poem

Hi everyone. Happy Wednesday. Here’s another poem for you. Enjoy 😊

White Night Fantasy

To escape this perverse world,
I hide among the white trees,
in my fantasy paradise, so far away,
where no one else can find me.

Beyond the twilight of my refuge,
a nightmare, I need my own world to escape.
I long for the silent serenity,
only found in this deep, sleep state.

Through the shrouds of snow,
I can see the peace I long for,
in a field of my white night fantasy,
I wish to stay here forevermore.

How’s your week going? I’m still trying to feel better. I’m hoping to be back to work next week, but we will see.

Lost in Reverie – A Poem

Hi Everyone!

Happy Thursday. I hope your week is flying by. Tomorrow is my scheduled test to see what’s going on with my stomach, so I doubt there will be a blog post. I’ll also probably be skipping Saturday as well – it’s my birthday! (Fingers crossed I feel better by then!) I’ll update you all on Sunday.

For now – another poem. Enjoy 😊

Lost in Reverie

Crimson rose, light as a feather,
free in a fantasy world of imagery.
Far from imitation love and joy,
and vengeful, black falsehoods.

Sun setting in a sweet rapture,
feel the silken touch of warm air.
Held captive in perfect harmony.
Lost in reverie, away from reality.

That’s all I have for you today. What are your weekend plans?

The Siren’s Song Floats on Ship Sails – A Poem

Hi everyone!

Another poem for you today. I wrote this one for a Creative Writing assignment in college.

Enjoy 😊

The Siren’s Song Floats on Ship Sails

The siren’s song floats on ship sails,
drawing in a sailor’s final sigh,
for temptations always prevail.

A harmony impossible to decline,
when the course goes awry,
the siren’s song floats on ship sails.

Once truth and song combine,
on strength, the men cannot rely,
for temptations always prevail.

Once wise men, naively blind,
believe beauty is an ally,
the siren’s song floats on ship sails.

Allowing the humming to entwine,
unknown this is the last goodbye,
for temptations always prevail.

And you, sailors must keep your mind,
cover your ears so you can deny.
The siren’s song floats on ship sails,
for temptations always prevail.

That’s all I have for you today. I hope your week flies by!

Forgotten – A Poem

Hi Everyone! Happy Friday.

Better news today! While I’m not feeling much better yet, I did finally see a doctor who has an idea of what is going on and is going to help me out. I should be on the road to feeling better soon. Thanks for all the thoughts.

Here’s another poem. Enjoy 😊

Forgotten

Take my heart, hold it close.
Feel the passion, sweltering.
I want this power around me.

Emotions whirling, whispering,
“you’re truly beautiful.”
And I’m living to discover your soul.

I’d forgotten how to breathe,
but now I’m paralyzed by you.
And stronger, our flame burns.

What are your plans for the weekend? Mine is powering through to catch up on NaNoWriMo. I’m behind but not giving up yet.

I hope you have a great weekend!

Cancer – A Poem

Hey there everyone! Happy Thursday.

This is a very personal poem, written quite a while ago. Some of you may know, my mom passed away from cancer when I was 18. Writing definitely helped me through some rough times.

Enjoy. 😊

Cancer

Eating away
every ounce
of hope
until that day
comes when,
she slips away,
and you’re left,
to face this
world alone.

Poetic Expression – A Poem

Happy Saturday!

We are going to a Halloween party tonight. I’m being lame and reusing my costume from last year but it is what it is. I’m going to be a book worm. Stay tuned for pictures on Facebook/Instagram and maybe I’ll post one here.

I have 99 followers! One more to go til I announce my give away. Looking forward to that.

Here is a poem I wrote 9 years ago. Enjoy. 😊

Poetic Expression

Feelings bleeding through,
the black ink on this paper.
A written tale of a little,
girl ripped apart by love.

So much power held in my mind,
spilling it out through my pen.
Turning my darkest fears into,
a symphony of poetic expression.

Piecing every thought together,
my personal diary in metaphors.
Pulling myself apart to find,
the words to turn my life around.

What are your plans for Halloween? If you’re dressing up, what will you be? Have a great weekend!

Spiderweb – A Poem

Hey there! I hope your weekend has been going well. I haven’t been feeling well this week, so I’ve just been resting and trying to work on Alter Reach. I wanted to share another poem. This one has a kind of Halloween theme. Enjoy. 😊

Spiderweb

The spider sees its prey,
a tired little butterfly
needing rest and comfort.
He hides in the shadows,
awaiting her arrival.

She lands in his web,
unaware of the danger.
The spider emerges,
welcoming with open arms,
whispering sweet lies.

He says, “Rest now my love,
in the morning you will be
rested and ready to fly.”
She drifts into a slumber,
she’ll never wake from again.

The threads tie and bind,
his prey dies tonight,
in sweet silence.

Black & White – A Poem

Hey there everyone! I hope your week is going well. Here’s another poem for you. Enjoy 😊

Black & White

Ambiance of chaos encircles misery,
trapping agony in her fragile heart.
Memories regurgitated in cycles.
There is no escape.

Icy eyes grow distant and cold.
The pain coagulates in his soul.
A void of stillness grows stronger.
There is no escape.

Flamboyant skies turn black and white.
Disoriented silence grows deafening.
Both fall to the masquerade of joy.
There is no escape.

Wreckage – A Poem

Hey everyone, Happy Wednesday. I’m behind on my September TBR, but I’m not giving up. I’m also not that upset because I’ve been working hard on Alter Reach (if you haven’t read chapter one yet, what are you waiting for? 😉)

I have a poem for you, written 9 years ago. Enjoy!

Wreckage

Buried in the wreckage,
of disconnected dreams,
I’m but a ghostly mirage,
wandering the streets,
trapped in the past,
until this dark cloud recedes,
and I can finally say,
I have found inner peace.
